USDA’S Conservation Security Program has helped producers become better stewards of the land, says Georgia’s state conservationist, Leonard Jordan.

Jordan recently visited Ken Hall, Jr., a farmer in Georgia’s Little River watershed and one of the first program participants. Jordan thinks people in the community have benefited from Hall’s conservation practices.

Suggested introduction for cut three:

Secretary Veneman announced recently the Conservation Security Program is expanding to 202 watersheds in 2005, up from 18 this year. Jordan encourages farmers to be on alert for sign-ups in their area.
