Warehouses, merchants and mills are encouraged to participate in a rack sample survey through April 30.

The National Cotton Council is encouraging warehouses, merchants and mills to participate in a rack sample survey through April 30.

Suggested introduction for cut one:

The Rack Sample Study Committee, chaired by Bill Bowen, has been asked by National Cotton Council delegates to investigate the growing concern that recent changes in the marketing of cotton may have created inefficiencies in traditional sample-handling practices. Currently, a sample of each bale entering a warehouse is stored until the buyer requests a sample or the bale is shipped.

Suggested introduction for cut two:

Since each business is different, participants are encouraged to take time and answer each survey question based on its unique business perspective. Actions from this survey have the possibility to affect the entire industry, so every opinion counts.

Suggested introduction for cut three:

After the April 30 deadline for survey submissions, committee members and staff will compile information and present findings in late Summer.
