Conservation Tools and News

The National Cotton Council believes that quality conservation efforts not only improve the environment but can improve a producer’s bottom line. In the coming years, conservation programs are expected to account for almost 30 percent of total spending on agricultural programs. The NCC is helping producer members determine which conservation programs would be beneficial to their operations and to better understand the programs’ qualifications/enrollment process.

To facilitate this effort, the NCC has created a central information venue. At this page, producers can view short educational videos outlining various conservation programs with commentary from Bruce Knight, former chief of USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, along with fellow producers who have utilized the programs. In addition, there are cotton specific fact sheets outlining the various programs with tips on how to improve your odds of acceptance.

This page will be continually updated with the latest conservation news regarding sign-up deadlines and new programs offered through USDA.
