BIO Focus on Compliance Workshop: COTTON Sponsored by BIO (Biotechnology Industry Organization)
Tuesday, January 8, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Gaylord Opryland Hotel
With the continued advancements in crop biotechnology and the growing complexity of the federal regulatory system, the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) created "Beyond Compliance Task Force" to continue the development and implementation of BIO's environmental stewardship program for products of agricultural biotechnology. The task force member companies have pooled their collective experiences and knowledge gained from responsibly bringing new products to market over the past 16 years in order to share it throughout the agricultural sector, beyond commercial entities to farmer cooperators, academics and public sector institutions.
The task force has developed a Compliance Educational Manual to be used as an educational tool to assist users in better understanding and meeting the U.S. regulatory requirements for conducting experimental field trials of genetically cotton intended for fiber, feed and food use. The desired outcome from this workshop is consistent understanding and performance in meeting federal requirements for regulatory compliance. The workshop covers stewardship activities associated with the development of products of agricultural biotechnology. CEUs will be offered for completion of this workshop.
Cost to attend the workshop is $100 includes workshop development, materials, and breaks.
