Management Data for Primary Tillage of Coastal Plain Soils

T.B. Garner, H.L. Musen, and R.S. Dodd

ABSTRACT

Implement draft, effective field capacity, fuel consumption, forward speed and slip data are presented for subsoiling and subsoil-bedding of five coastal plain soil conditions. The soil conditions were chosen primarily on the basis of depth to the B-soil horizon. Depth of subsoiling was varied from approximately 12--18 inches for each soil condition. Soybean yield response to subsoiling treatments is presented.
