ABSTRACT
During cotton ginning, lint cleaners extract foreign matter from cotton. Depending on the condition of the cotton, 20 to 70 pounds of material may be extracted, some of which are spinnable fibers. Lint retrievers are designed to recover these fibers and return them into the lint stream between the gin stand and first lint cleaner. Experiments have been conducted since 1976 to evaluate the effects of this reclaimed lint on fiber properties and textile processing performance. This report will review the available literature on these experiments.
