Cotton Gin Power Consumption

Chris Breedlove

Electrical power consumption is one of the highest variable expenses in processing seed cotton. Consolidation of cotton gins and increase acreage has caused cotton gins to increase their capacity. This paper provides some insight into power consumption by the gin stand, module feeder, and entire cotton gin.
