ABSTRACT
Adverse weather conditions often prevent winter tillage and weed control on land to be planted to cotton, resulting in the depletion of moisture and nutrients. Cotton-Pro plus Gramoxone Extra or Roundup and Meturon plus Gramoxone Extra were evaluated for pre-plant burndown. Goal and Bladex plus Gramoxone Extra were included as commercial standards for broadleaf weed control. Control of panicum and redvine was not satisfactory with any of the treatments. Cotton-Pro and Meturon gave increased control of cutleaf evening primrose over Bladex and better control than Goal of ivey leaf morning glory. The program appears to be beneficial in a reduced tillage situation.
