International Harmonization of HVI Testing

H. Harig and Th. Schneider

ABSTRACT

The results of the Bremen Cotton Round Trials show that the interlaboratory variability of micronaire and length measurements, using HVI systems, is of the same dimension as for measurements with individual instruments. The variation of the cotton strength results after calibration with HVI Calibration Cotton is significantly higher than the one obtained by calibration with International Calibration Cotton.

The German HVI Working Group has worked on suggestions towards unification of calibration methods and harmonization of measuring techniques.
