Management of Lepidopteran Pests with Insect Resistant Cotton: Recommended Approaches

David A. Fischhoff

ABSTRACT

Insect resistant cotton demonstrating a high level of resistance to damage and yield loss by lepidopteran pests has been developed through the expression of B.t. genes in plants. We have developed approaches for utilizing these plants to maximize the utility and durability of this new type of cotton insect control product. These strategies will now be tested and optimized in the field prior to commercial introduction of insect resistant cotton.
