Management of Boll Weevil Using Insecticide Combinations

G.E. Studebaker and D.R. Johnson

ABSTRACT

Control of the boll weevil (Anthonomus grandis Boheman) using various insecticides and insecticide combinations was evaluated. All the pyrethroids evaluated gave good control when used alone or in combination with Guthion, Vydate or Mothyl parathion/Thiodan. All other treatments gave good control with the exception of Guthion alone which did not separate from the check. Only Ammo + Methyl parathion/Thiodan and Baythroid alternated with Guthion yielded significantly higher than the untreated check.
