The Western Boll Weevil Eradication Program: Extension Perspective

Leon Moore

ABSTRACT

The boll weevil became a major cotton pest in the western U.S. during the early 1980's. Extension and research projects followed by an eradication program have successfully reduced the insect to minor pest status. Future programs can be fine tuned up front by a positive evaluation of problem areas encountered.
