ABSTRACT

Blood monocyte procoagulant activity has previously been related to delayed type hypersensitivity. In this study, blood monocytes from cotton workers and subjects not exposed to organic dusts were incubated with and without endotoxin and recalcification time was measured. Monocytes from cotton workers had an increased procoagulant activity suggesting cellular sensitization to the endotoxin present in cotton dust.
