Estimating Fruit Value with TEXCIM

A.W. Hartstack and W.L. Sterling

ABSTRACT

A model for estimating the value of a single cotton fruit is presented. This model is used in conjunction with a cotton-insect model, TEXCIM, to establish dynamic action thresholds for pest insects by estimating the potential value of the fruit damaged by the pest. Simple economic models can then be used to decide if action is justified.
