Monitoring Plant Bug Populations Using Small Square Set and Square Slicing

D.R. Johnson

ABSTRACT

Plant bug treatment and management levels were evaluated over a 2 year period. Results show that plant bug damage can be determined using small square set and management decisions made based on this data. Plant bug and bollworm damage were the primary reason for damage during the first four weeks of squaring and physiological causes the last three weeks. A variable treatment level appears to be the most effective approach to plant bug management.
