Dick Knight and Fred T. Cooke, Jr.

ABSTRACT

Farm enterprise budgets have been published in Mississippi since 1939. These budgets have been traditionally used to aid in research analysis, provide information to farmers for decision making and guides for farm lending. In 1980, the budgets became a factor in determining tax rates for agricultural lands. This new use required considerable improvement in data collection methods and budget generation. Farm enterprise budget developing Mississippi is an ever changing processing an effort to improve accuracy and usefulness.
